Do I Require a Referral?
You do not require a referral to see a psychologist. However, clients who have been referred by a GP, with a mental health care plan (MHCP) may be eligible for a Medicare rebate of $96.65, which is processed at the end of every session. If you wish to attend without a MHCP, clients would be required to pay the full amount of $160 per session. Clients with private health insurance may be able to receive a rebate from their insurer. How Long Will Each Therapy Session Take?
Initial/standard psychological consultations are 50 mins. Longer sessions can be scheduled at your request.
How Many Sessions Will it Take?
During your initial consultation, I will explore with you the challenges you are facing or seeking help with. I will then collaborate with you to form the most effective tailored treatment regime to best suit your needs. Although some clients report improvement after only a few sessions, many will require therapy for a longer period until they feel they have overcome their issues with sufficient confidence to cease treatment. Regular sessions which are often weekly or fortnightly are often recommended during the beginning of treatment. These may then be spaced out as required to suit your changing needs.
Cancellation Fees
Clients are required to provide a minimum of 48 hours notice prior to the appointment time, or a full service fee will still be charged.
